Entering its 36th year of business, Action Auto Promotions has provided the organization and facilitation of demolition derbies at local celebrations and county fairs throughout Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. For several years founder and President, Jerry Paulus, was a demolition derby driver and in 1973 moved to the promotional aspect.

The business, first known as Jerry Paulus and Associates, changed its name in 1989 to Action Auto Promotions, Inc. to better describe the variety of entertainment that is provided. At one time or another every member of his family has been involved. Sue has been there since the beginning and as daughters Heather and Jennifer grew they became involved with all aspects from registration to flagging.

AAPI recruits staff that have been involved in the construction of a demolition derby car and have participated in demolition derbies. The knowledge that these individuals bring as team members enhances the input that goes into formulating the rule updates for each season. On a continual basis, AAPI also seeks input from drivers that participate in its derbies throughout the three states.

AAPI strives to maintain the highest safety record possible along with retaining drivers by offering various car classes.

In partnership with all fair committees acceptable prize money and plaques are awarded so that the process of building the car is a rewarding one for drivers. And while not each participant will win the big money, everyone can have a smashing good time with AAPI.
